WELCOME to my website and the projects I have been working on most recently.

I am a writer – mostly for theatre and television - but latterly also of a book I am proud to present to you here.

The thread through most of my work is a passion for history - for the fact-based drama that grows out of intensive research. Writing from real events and research feeds my need for art that contributes to the fight for environmental and social justice. These are truths that most often illuminate causes better than any fiction, and are all the more powerful for showing us the battles that have been won before and which can
be won again.

Starting my creative career behind the camera, I graduated from the Victorian College of the Arts with a diploma in film. Then writing for film, advertising and television was how I started putting pen to paper. Moving to Paris animated me to seek fresh creative outlets and pursue historical perspectives and I began writing full-time.

Another change and four years in Berlin gave me the opportunity to grow my work in different directions. Learning French and German changed my relationship to my own language. Working with fabulous artists overseas changed assumptions about my own work. Now I am back home in Australia collaborating with wonderful artists here. All these perspectives overlap and enrich my work today.

I have loved writing the pieces you will encounter here, and hope you find the same enjoyment in reading them.
